What to Eat with Salted Caramel?

You will love homemade salted caramel with recipes like cupcakes, cakes, and any dessert really. Use it as a caramel dip for apples, spoon over ice cream, or pour into decorated jars and give it as a gift for your friends and family.

There are two ways to do the caramel sauce, I use the “wet” method, if you wanna know the difference please visit Life, Love and Sugar website.

Follow these easy instructions to create sweet salted caramel sauce at home.

  • 100g of caster sugar
  • 50ml of water
  • 50ml of whipped cream
  • 25g of butter
  • pinch of salt

  1. Firstly, to make the salted caramel sauce, combine the sugar and water in a small pan over a medium-high heat. Secondly allow it to boil and bubble for 5-8 minutes or until the liquid turns a golden brown colour.
  2. As soon as it’s ready, remove from the heat and very slowly whisk in the cream followed by the butter and pinch of salt to finish.
  3. Since the heavy cream is colder than the caramel, the mixture will rapidly bubble when added.
  4. If the sauce appears to be too thick, add some more cream to reach the desired consistency.
  5. Finally pour the sauce into a jar or other dish and wait for it to cool, then close and put in the fridge.
  6. The sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to several weeks and before use, you must remove it from the fridge and warmed up (by putting the jar in hot water), because the cold one is very thick.
