This is a basic recipe for light ham and cheese waffles.

All you need to do is to mix all the ingredients together. In principle, they will be good with anything because the most important is the recipe for the ham and cheese waffles itself, and this recipe is simple and delicious for breakfast. Serve with your favourite salad or fresh vegetables. 

In this recipe you can use bacon instead of ham or any kind of cheese. Make your own combination and you’ll see is very simple and fun for whole family.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of plain flour (1 cups + ½ cup + 1 tbsp)
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 50 grams cheese (½ cup)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 grams ham (½ cup)
  • 100 ml of vegetable oil or melted butter (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 200 ml of buttermilk or you can substitute with milk (¾ cup)

How to make it

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl, add baking powder and salt. Mix everything and then add eggs, vegetable oil and buttermilk (you can substitute with milk as well).
  2. Mix with a mixer or with a whisk until smooth, until the ingredients combine. Then add chopped cheese and ham.
  3. The dough can be left to rest for about 15 minutes, but it is not necessary.
  4. Preheat the waffle maker. Bake the waffles for about 4 minutes or for the time specified in the waffle maker instruction.
  5. Next put the dough with a big spoon and spread the dough over the entire surface with the other side of the spoon.
  6. After baking, put the waffles on the metal grid.
  7. Serve with your favourite salad or fresh vegetables.
