There is nothing better than homemade bread with seeds and its smell that passes through the house. It is very simple to make and really delicious.

This homemade bread with seeds it’s done quickly and it always comes out perfect. The bread is tasty and very nutritious, soft and springy inside. It is definitely a healthier alternative than white wheat rolls from the store or artificially coloured bread.

Homemade bread with seeds


  • 500 grams warm water
  • 8 grams dried instant yeast or 20 grams fresh (2 tsp)
  • 30 grams virgin olive oil
  • 500 grams plain flour
  • 10 grams salt
  • 50 grams rolled oats
  • 150 grams mixed seeds (sesame, linseed, sunflower, pumpkin or any other)
  • 20 grams honey
  • 10 grams balsamic vinegar

How to make it

  1. Place warm water and yeast in mixing bowl, stir and leave for around 10 minutes. Meantime, grease a loaf tin (approx. 30 cm long or 2 smaller) and set aside.
  2. Next add plain flour, salt, rolled oats, mixed seeds, honey, balsamic vinegar and virgin olive oil in mixing bowl and knead 3 minutes. Dough will have a wet and sticky consistency but not to worry, this is how it should be.
  3. By using spatula transfer dough to prepared loaf tin and sprinkle with extra seeds if you want.
  4. Let it rise uncovered in warm place until doubled in size (around 30-45 minutes). Meanwhile, preheat oven to 200 C.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely before slicing.
