Chocolate mousse dessert. It’s chocolate heaven. Dark chocolate mousse with eggs and whipped cream. It is fluffy, creamy and very chocolatey. Egg whites and whipped cream give it its fluffiness. Moreover, it is quick to prepare. It can be served plain or sprinkled with grated chocolate, with a splash of whipped cream or with fresh fruits.

  • 100 grams dark chocolate (½ cup+1 tbsp)
  • 2 free-range eggs
  • 100 ml double cream (¼cup+2 tbsp)
  • 1 tablespoons caster sugar
  • raspberries or whipped cream for decorating (optional)

How to make it

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of gently simmering water, then remove to cool for around 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile whip the cream to very soft peaks.
  3. Next separate the eggs, add the yolks to the cream with the sugar, and whisk to combine.
  4. In another bowl add a pinch of sea salt to the whites and beat until super-stiff.
  5. Fold the cooled chocolate into the cream, then very gently fold that through the egg whites with a spatula.
  6. Divide the mousse between glasses or bowls.
  7. Serve with whipped cream or some fresh fruits.
